The Universal Code of Life

(Written in 2003)

The Universal Code of Life assumes that the Universe is purposeful and meaningful rather than random and meaningless. It is presented as the Universal Moral Code applicable to all Life in the Universe. Recent scientific research and theory confirms the purposeful nature of the Universe.

PRINCIPLE I

The Purpose of all Life in the Universe is:

TO ENHANCE AND EXPAND LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE

The goal of enhancing and expanding Life in the Universe is the fundamental Universal Life Imperative. Thus it can be truly said that: The purpose of Life is Life itself.

PRINCIPLE II

As Human Life is part of Universal Life, the Purpose of Human Life is also:

TO ENHANCE AND EXPAND LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE

PRINCIPLE III

ACTIONS WHICH ENHANCE LIFE ON EARTH AND EXPAND LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE ARE MORAL

ACTIONS WHICH DIMINISH LIFE ON EARTH AND REDUCE LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE ARE IMMORAL

Where:

Enhancing Life improves the quality of Life on Earth and develops Life to its fullest potential.

Expanding Life increases the diversity of Life on Earth and expands its presence in the Universe.

Diminishing Life diminishes the quality of Life on Earth and inhibits the development of Life’s fullest potential.

Reducing Life decreases the diversity of Life on Earth and reduces its presence in the Universe.

Universal values and ethics flow accordingly from the Universal Code of Life. Individual, family, organizational, community, national and global decisions/actions can be harmonized with the Universal Code of Life for the benefit of all Life, in accordance with natural law inherent in the structure of our Cosmos by chance or design.
